The Phantom Planters Trust

So guys I was away yesterday having a meeting with my accountant about setting up The Phantom Planters Charitable Trust. Its all coming together soon and so happy to get the ball rolling on this.

I certainty wont be paying myself over £100K a year like so many of these other tree planting Trust directors.

Feeling very positive and enthusiastic for the future of The Phantom Planters movement.

It was the massacre of our community orchard a while back there that has driven me to do this. Every disaster thats ever happened in my life drove me to something new. Out of a muddy pond blooms a lotus flower. With every negative comes an equal or greater positive. It all depends on our own mindset what way we go with this. As the Buddha says we make our world with our minds.

I learned from the best though on how to always keep a positive mental attitude. My Delboy dad was the most amazing man at this. I watched my dad go from literally rags to riches. When I was a young kid he had this old brown ford escort car and he use to drive round everywhere with the boot full of clothes. He would have pulled up at pubs. bookies, restaurants and take a black bag full of socks or something and walk into theses premises and shout if anyone wanted to buy any. Many people laughed him but loads of people bought. When people tried to make a mockery of my dad he just laughed it off. He was the most amazing man at letting things go over his head. Honestly I've seen him even threatened before and he just laughed a

nd said you'll only hurt your hands.

My dad did not let others darkness affect him.

At nights he used to come back and count all his cash with a fig hanging out of his mouth chuckling away to himself.

As the years went by the boxes of cash got bigger and bigger and my dad grew to be one of the biggest movers in the Belfast underworld. I have yet to meet another man that owned his life and time like my dad. And he was always humble with it.

My dad was definitely a Buddha in his own way. He always said you make your own luck in life. Even on his last days he said to me dont worry about me son. I've lived the life of 10 men and I got to play poker in America. That was his dream as a kid was to play poker in the wild west.. Every year he went and played cash game poker on Indian reservations in the wild west.  And he was amazing at it too.

I was standing in the Sheridan hotel in Anaheim just outside LA one year and I heard this man call my name. It was my school headmaster! He said what are you doing here?

I was on my own running around the hotel and my parents were away playing poker on some indian reservation nearby. They went to this one a lot.

I'm not sure what my headmaster thought when I told them were my parents where!

Yes my wee mum was an amazing poker player too.

My dad was one of the best poker players in the country. That was his retirement playing poker. He had 2 poker schools he went too every week. He used to only take a few hundred quid at each. He said if you take too much they wont want me back. He was brilliant. Smiling away to myself even writing this.

Anyhow guys, always try and be positive. The more light you shine the more shadows you will cast. Just keep on being that gold coin amongst the garbage bringing joy to all who pass by is what The Buddha says. There will always be darkness in this world. Leave them all to it. As an archer aims his arrow the wise aim their thoughts.

I challenge you to phantom plant a tree

Peace and love

The Phantom Planter and Wee Betty
