Ulster Trees for Ulster Bees!

I've got a new and exciting project starting soon, I've teamed up with a good mate of mine who has extensive knowledge and a passion for trees and we have been agreed a piece of land to build our tree nursery on!

It will be the phantom planters secret location heritage apple tree nursery!

Our long term plan and goal is to grow all our own native variety apple trees, for years now I've been buying them round other nurseries and garden centres and its hard to believe but nearly all our native varieties are grown in Holland and shipped over here, how crazy is that, I find this a bit baffling!

Why cant we grow our own here?

None of us have grafted before but we are going to learn, we have a vision of producing many different types of native heritage apple trees and giving them to schools and communities for planting all around the country and to other phantom planters too!

I've been watching and observing many native apple trees I've phantom planted myself over the years and they really are the best suited here to deal with disease and bugs , they look so healthy and vibrant and need alot less molly cuddling also were as with many of these dutch types they dont look so happy!

There is also a whole host of other ecological benefits in keeping all tree growing local and native, Ulster Trees for Ulster Bees!

This is a lifelong passion that me and my mate have, it will take a couple of years to get some decent sized planting stock behind us, we are aiming to graft 500 trees this year and see how it goes and take it from there.

Really excited about this, it's been something I've been wanting to get going for along time now, its the next step for me, I was always going to do this one day!

Going to fill this place to the brim with apple trees!

Rise of the paramili-trees UTPP up the phantom planters!!!
