RIP Linda and Harry Lindsay....

 Phantom planted two apple trees yesterday in memory of Linda Lindsay who just passed away over a month or so ago and we also planted one in memory of her husband Harry Lindsay who passed away about 10 years ago....


All the family came along yesterday to help out with the planting which was so good to see....


RIP Linda and Harry....


I've been meaning to plant a tree in memory of wee Harry for years now, he was very well known around the estate where the phantom planters HQ is and I was very close to Harry myself and knew him nearly all my life, he was my delboy dads wheeling and dealing partner for many years, they used to call each other every night to say good night mate, always thought what a friendship they had! 


You could write a book about my delboy dad and wee Harry, the 2 of them were like something out of the sopranos, you would not have crossed them, one story always stuck in my head was this guy that owed them money before and was avoiding paying, so both of them headed out to find him and when they got to his office where the guy worked it was upstairs, Harry had to wear an oxygen mask for many years as his lungs weren't the best, but when they got to the the office Harry couldn't make it upstairs so my delboy dad went on up and Harry was heard shouting, if he's up there bring him down here till I hit him with the hammer!


Harry was known to carry a hammer in his inside pocket!


I laugh at this all the time and there was many more stories like it about the antics of there little partnership.


It didnt matter where it was either or who owed them money, I've seen them both set off at times, Harry with his hammer and my Delboy dad with his baseball bat and off they go into enemy turf to track someone down because some guy is avoiding paying and it was probably for singing santas or makepup sets or something, who knows they sold all sorts....


I remember I got a phone call before from a guy that knew my dad and he was in a restaurant and he called me saying your dad is here looking someone with a baseball bat and and he's with another guy with a oxygen mask!


I was thinking thats my deboy dad and wee harry alright and I bet the guy they are tracking down owes about 50 quid for some fake adidas tracksuit or something!


I'm laughing writing this, when I think of the two of them I smile....


Both of them would have helped you out in every way they could, they were proper men of their communities, just dont try and avoid paying them, they were old skool, its all they knew how to survive....


Wee Harry was an absolute gentleman who I miss very much myself, he was the one person when I was caught up in all sorts of underworld cahoots who I went too for advice...


He was the man, one of life's true characters, they dont come much more original than Harry Lindsay!


And Linda as well, she was a gem...


Thoughts and prayers are with all the Lindsay family, was so happy to see so many of yous come along....

From Spain to Belfast Phantom Planting!

  Phantom planted another apple tree yesterday with my big glaswegian pal who is over visiting! He couldn't believe the size of the orchard now! Last time we planted a tree was years ago in Spain, 2 plum trees we phantom planted out there, sadly they didn't survive but we had great fun doing it in the lashing rain right outside the Buddhist Stupa as you can see in one of the pics, an offering to the Buddha was my intention! I was at the worst of my addictions back then, used to visit this Stupa a lot for spiritual guidance, really found myself out there, spent a lot of time in Spain soul searching, taking advantage of the cheap winter flights and free stay! I had my last ever pint at the airport after praying at this Stupa, the Buddha responded to my offering I believe! Pretty magical really, faith in a higher power guys, that did it for me, there's more to all this life, more to all this all this world! "Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"..
