Shakespeare's oak coming to Belfast!

Got some acorns on the way from the famous Birnam oak tree in Perthshire, this tree was celebrated in Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Thank you to our Paramili-Tree A-Corn Team up in Scotland for going and doing this, I got send 2 videos and many pics of the mission getting these, they even managed to get a bag of soil from around the tree also as this stuff has the mycelium in it that will be the thing to get the acorns of to a flying start!

Someone else had went and checked this tree out last week for me and said there were loads of acorns on it and the lady who went and got these acorns said there was only a handful on it, people must be going and collecting these to grow which so great to see!

It's all these ancient trees we all need to be seed collecting from this autumn and growing trees from for phantom planting, this is something I believe we all need to be doing as individuals is building our connection back to nature!

I was talking with a willow tree grower who lives with the trees and he said the reason he believes there is so much addiction in the world is we have lost our connection to nature.

I have the same thoughts and belief as this man. many are lost out there in concrete jungles, places which are against everything that we are, any wonder we have to alter our minds and blind ourselves from the insanity of it all...

I will never forget the light bulb moment in my life, the day I jumped off a viking boat pissed out of my head and stumbled across Jampa Ling Buddhist Temple.

Soon as I drove up in the taxi a monk was standing there with a smile on his face, like he knew I was coming, I got out and said from the depths of darkness, I need to stay with you guys, can I stay with you I said, the monk said sure we have a room for you.

He put me in a room with a scroll on the wall and it read,

“We have bigger houses but smaller families, more conveniences but less time,

We have more degrees, but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, but more problems,

more medicines, but less healthiness,

We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.

We’ve built more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communications

We have become long on quantity, but short on quality.

These times are times of fast foods but slow digestion,

Tall man but short character, Steep profits but shallow relationships. It is time when there is much in the window, but nothing in the room.”

I now know this quote of the top of my head!

But I never forget standing reading these words from Big D, my life flashed before me, you know when you think the be all and end all of life is paper - digits - toys and tinsel but deep down you know the game your playing is not giving you any real meaning or purpose to life, in fact its having the opposite, its poisoning and polluting you!

I was a victim of the ratrace, I played the game nearly to death!

Now I'm a ratrace refugee taking refuge in the Buddha and Mother Nature!

I got meaning - I got purpose - I got a soul back!

Get out guys, connect with them old trees, collect the seed and grow them, give yourself a purpose and place knowing your doing something great in this world!

Thanks again to the lovely lady who is sending me these acorns, really appreciate it from all of you!

Would there be anyone could go and check out the Allerton Oak in Liverpool for me to see if its producing any acorns this year please, what makes this one a bit special is its an Irish Oak, its a bit Irish though dont you think that the oldest Irish oak tree is not in Ireland, really would love acorns from this tree.
