The Treevolution has begun!

Here is a load of apple trees we phantom planted a couple of years ago in East Belfast, unfortunately lots of them got ripped out but still 2 are standing strong!


I remember when I first started phantom planting around council estates lots of people thought I was mad saying they would get ripped out by kids and the council but I never listened, how are we ever going to achieve anything in life if we dont try!


The way I looked at it also was I had just broken free and escaped my addictions, I used to spend hundreds of pounds a week on drink and drugs and now I'm going to spend what money I used to spend on poisoning me on planting fruit trees for nature and the community, from self gratification to selfless service, the antidote for the soul...


If some dont make it I will just keep planting more and more, I'm not going to loose any sleep over trees that dont make it.


I cant let this get in the way of my intentions, dreams and visions, they can always be replaced, it was better spent on a tree than in the bar anyway and no tree I've ever phantom planted was a waste of my time or energy, 2 trees that got vandalised before ended up connecting me to some of the best friends I have in my life right now!


With this attitude and approach I now have thousands of fruit trees around Belfast and beyond with the community and natures creatures enjoying the fruits of my labour everyday!


Such a great feeling when someone comes over to you and said they made a pie from the fruit of your phantom planted trees!


All this from drink and drug money, I have a soul purpose now, I never had that in the rat race!

  A bit about me and how I became the phantom planter. I grew up in a Loyalist housing estate in Belfast, my father a Protestant and my mother was a Catholic from Ardyone, that had big complications here in Northern Ireland but I always knew I was a mongrel, a bit different! From Spain to Belfast Phantom Planting!

  Phantom planted another apple tree yesterday with my big glaswegian pal who is over visiting! He couldn't believe the size of the orchard now! Last time we planted a tree was years ago in Spain, 2 plum trees we phantom planted out there, sadly they didn't survive but we had great fun doing it in the lashing rain right outside the Buddhist Stupa as you can see in one of the pics, an offering to the Buddha was my intention! I was at the worst of my addictions back then, used to visit this Stupa a lot for spiritual guidance, really found myself out there, spent a lot of time in Spain soul searching, taking advantage of the cheap winter flights and free stay! I had my last ever pint at the airport after praying at this Stupa, the Buddha responded to my offering I believe! Pretty magical really, faith in a higher power guys, that did it for me, there's more to all this life, more to all this all this world! "Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"..
