What a day!
What an amazing day we had yesterday at the phantom planters HQ.
So many people came along yesterday to meet up as we phantom planted 2 memorial apple trees.
It really is soul enriching for me when I see so many people come along like this, my right hand man brought the sausage baps for everyone and another mate of mine who is an organic farmer landed down with a sack of spuds and a sack of green beans with a load of carrier bags and was handing bags of them out to everyone. With the sun shining down on us it truly was a special day.
This big frog also came to hang around while we were planting and then I seen a few mice as well.
A guy that walks the orchard all the time said he seen an owl at night in the orchard and he said he has never seen as many jays in his life than he has flying around the orchard.
If you build it they will come as the saying goes and all these animals and people are coming along to the orchard because I believe they know that its a safe haven for them.
Not one insect, worm or bug is killed intentionally at our orchard. Its all life and its all the creation, all of it should be respected. Buddhism has turned me into a softy but it has made me aware that all these bugs, birds and insects and all of mother nature is there to support us.
"When a mans good deeds overcome his bad joy will follow him like a shadow that never leaves"... Buddha.
Days like yesterday really make me think have I levelled up with my karmic debt. I think we know deep in our souls though, its like when we commit bad actions it creates a sort of discontent, like anxiety, paranoia and fear within ourselves. Deep down our souls are keeping score of this I believe and the Dharma is too - the underlying cosmic law of the universe. Every thought and action is recorded, these ripples are put out there and reflected back at us.
It is us that is our own worst enemies.
When your in the thick of darkness though its hard to even comprehend this. We place so much blame on others and other situations for our own mental suffering when the majority of it is our own doing. Then many go and expect some God to heal and purify them. In Buddhism its hard work and effort that purifies us. Prayers and rituals are not enough. Think how long you've spent emitting negative karmic actions, me personality I spent about 20 years I'd say. Think it may take 20 years doing good deeds to balance that out. I've another 10 years to go then and who knows I may be levitating then!
We purify ourselves, the Buddhas only point to the way....

I challenge you to phantom plant a tree!
Peace and love...
