Trees are the peacemaker!
Nearly 200 fruit trees me and my right hand man looked over yesterday to make sure they were all ok.
We also mapped them of there locations to go on to the phantom planters free food map.
All these fruit trees have been phantom planted by us over the past 4-5 years at what we call The Phantom Planters HQ aka Belvoir Memorial Orchard.
We have over 700 fruit trees now in and around Belvoir housing estate South Belfast and there's no sign of us stopping!
As my right hand man was saying yesterday this is a legacy we are doing. Long after we are gone these trees will still be providing for the community and nature carrying on and promoting phantom planting for many future generations ahead.
Last night as I was working away tagging the trees an Indian couple was just sitting chilling at the orchard and then a lovely Polish family stopped by and sat at the bench my right hand man made around the old oak tree in the middle of the orchard.
I had some great chats with them and they are meeting me on Sunday to get signed up as phantom planters. I have a nice apple tree for the kids to plant, they have just moved into the estate and thought it would nice for them to have their own tree in the orchard.
We also have our big Ugandan phantom planter who comes to the orchard regularly and he helps out in the plantings now and again. He planted an apple tree and called it "All Nations"...
Planting trees is the peacemaker between all races I believe.
I see peoples faces when they see me out and about on my own looking after the trees and they ask, Why do you do this? Do you just do this of your own back?
Because its the right thing to do I say, nature and communities are crippling. We all need to stand up and do our bit.
And we all need to return on a personal basis what we have taken from nature, think what we use every day, all the Earths resources, we need to make an effort to return this.
We consume so much natural resources then waste it on our ego, which ultimately I believe is creating karmic debt for us.
We take from the earth to give back to the earth, Keep it symbiotic, you know it makes sense!
I challenge you to phantom plant a tree!
