100 more apple trees!
Grafted up another 100 native Irish apple trees yesterday.
( Bloody Butcher, Donegal Green Chisel and Gibbons Russett were the varieties I did).
Think I've about another 450 to go then that'll be 1000 apple trees grafted this year.
100 a day is my target for the next week or so and get these all done. You can take grafts from the last 2 weeks in March up until the first 2 weeks in April. Although I'd say using a polytunnel would let you start a bit earlier than the normal timelines.
After this it will be back to maintaining the new Lisnabreeny community orchard we have just planted up winter past with over 300 native Irish apple trees.
What I love about working with apple trees like this is its seasonal, your working with the different stages of natures cycle. Keeping my soul connected to where it belongs.
You plant the tree bare root in winter, you see the flower in spring, summer time you watch the tree thrive and the apples begin to fatten and in autumn you get to taste your years of work and effort.
We all need to be eating local organic foods for our health. You can stew apples and freeze them and eat all year round mixed in with your porridge or yogurt. We all need to consume one portion of natural organic local foods daily.
It's madness what has happened to our food chain out there. And its mad how selfish we have become. How much self gratification do we all need. How much toys and tinsels do we need either.
Its up to us to reverse this madness.
In ancient Ireland they had a law on wastage. It carried heavy penalties if you took from nature and didnt use all you took. The world needs Brehon law right now!
In ancient Ireland leaders were also held accountable if they messed up. If they made a decision that affected the people in a negative way they got stripped of everything and thrown down to the bottom of a type of caste system. They could also work their way back up again. Reputation was everything in ancient Ireland. You had to earn your reputation and place in society.
It was also a brehon law that if you chopped down an apple tree it carried a penalty of two and half milk cows. To cut down an apple tree was to cut down a noble tree that fed the people and nature and wasn't taken lightly.
There is so much delusion around in the world today, the system makes it so hard to try and do the right things at times. Which is why I believe we have to just forget about all these rules and regulations, listen to our own intuition and go out and do what we feel is right. If you get caught then cry all you want in protest.
In the meantime do what you feel is right. So many people listen to all these new laws and stand shouting there heads off with placards in anger. I just ignore them and do what I feel is right. If I get caught then I've got the courts as the best platform to shout my head off.
But most of the time if you keep your head down and do what you believe is the right thing to do with the best of intentions you can get away with all sorts.
We are our own worst enemy when it comes to things, in all my past underworld wheeling and dealing when I used to meet up with the nervos, the ones meeting you in the street to do a deal and their heads are spinning all ways in panic. I would never deal with them again. People like that will bring you down. How they are carrying themselves acting so nervous is just a beacon of dodge!
I always remember one guy, he came to my house with a dodgy letter once, Cant say what was in the letter but it was dodgy!
But he pulled up outside my house, looked all around my street like a maniac, then reached to his glove box, pulled the letter out and put it down his boxers in the middle of my street still looking up and down my street like a header as I watched him the whole time out my window.
He got to my door and I took the letter and said dont come near my house again like that. That was me finished with him.
Funny the things come into your head when you start writing, every morning I just write and try and let it flow. Not sure where I'm going with it most of the time but I'm just trying to put my own unique thoughts and experiences out there for you to read, Its whats needed I believe.
Hope you enjoy though, and if you do, go and be a renegade and phantom plant a tree. Imagine we all planted trees in protest.
Turn all the negativities of the world into a positive. Being negative about the negatives is letting yourself become infected and all your doing is polluting the world with the same toxic energies.
Peace and love
