Love my Irish yews

Got my Irish yew trees potted up last night. 14 in total I have, 7 Irish Yew and 7 Golden Irish yew. I also have 2 Junipers and some Arbutus Unedo that I was going to surround my cabin with then I just remembered the Arbutus Unedo aka the Killarney strawberry tree likes to be in full sun, so I'm going to plant these in friends gardens as gifts.

I did a mattress delivery yesterday and planted one in the old ladies garden for her. Mattress delivered and tree planted in the garden at the same time. Thats the type of service you get from Buddha Beds.

Ironically the ladies house I planted it in, it was her husband who just passed away recently that told me of the strawberry tree many years ago when I just first started phantom planting. Not many know that the Emerald Isle has a strawberry tree and all them years ago when he told me this I thought he was joking. But no he wasn't!

The strawberry tree produces edible fruit that looks like strawberries. I read before that the strawberry tree is said to be our only true indigenous fruit tree that was here from before the ice age. All the rest of the fruiting trees here have been introduced over thousands of years. The apple tree originally came from Kazakhstan. The cherries were believed to have been spread by Roman soldiers throwing away their seeds, and migrating birds? Who knows what seeds they have pooping out on their travels over the past thousands of years.

Guess not much really is native or indigenous at the end of the day.

Anyhow back to my yews, having yews planted around your place is believed to protect you from negative energies and the junipers are said to do the same thing too. Junipers are used in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries to ward off evil spirits and purify the energies.

I want to get 7 junipers also, so I have 7 Irish yew, 7 golden Irish yew and 7 junipers. I couldn't just afford to buy the 7 junipers just yet. But 2 will do for now.

I want to have 777 or 3 x 7 all together. 37 has always been my magical number. From I was a kid 37 has always been my lucky number. I was born into house number 37 and ever since then it has always been my lucky number.

My delboy dad when we always went to poker schools together he used to go mad when I always held 3 and a 7. But in many cases I won big time always holding a 3 and 7. Probably the worst cards you could hold in poker but I held them.

Then when I first started practising Buddhism and read on the path of the Bodhisattva, there is 37 practices to become a Bodhisattva. If you dont know what a Bodhisattva is. check these dudes out. They move from life to life consciously spreading the teachings of the Dharma. They withhold entering Nirvana and stay here for life after life helping all the headers down here. We can all become a Bodhisattva!

Peace and love
