No more fish bone for me.

This is why I will never use fish bone and blood meal again when planting trees.

Last year we planted about 5 or so trees all in the one spot and when I kept going and checking on them something had always been digging around the base of the trees.

Then I remembered that it was these trees that I had used fish bone and blood meal on.

When planting the trees I had added a few decent handful sizes in with the roots.

Must be dogs or foxes doing the digging thinking there is something nice under there for them to eat.

Yesterday I topped up all the holes that were dug with fresh compost and added some of this citrus powdered stuff thats supposed to prevent animals from digging.

Only time will tell if this works. If not I'm going to put some chicken mesh down around the base of the trees as recommended by the right hand man.

The digging hasn't seemed to have did anything to the health of the trees though. So much roots have been ripped up and left exposed, you'd think it would have had some sort of negative impact on the trees.

Look after the trees as they are looking after you.

I challenge you to phantom plant a tree!

Peace and love
