Things are getting ripe!
Thank you guys for all the housewarming comments yesterday.
This is my first post written from my new cabin.
For the first time in many weeks I took a walk around a couple of the orchards we have and I couldn't believe the growth.
One plum trees branches are touching the ground with the amount of plums on them!
I also seen people down picking some of the Buddhist blessed raspberries that are ripe and ready to eat now.
The gooseberries, currants and cherries are getting there too, I'd say they'll be ready to eat within the next month or so.
Everyone is welcome to go down and help themselves to some free fruit. Belvoir Memorial Orchard on Google maps. Fill your boots!
If you do pop down and see our orchards I really hope it inspires you to phantom plant some fruit trees also.
We all need to do our bit for nature and community.
And while we help nature and the community in a selfless way, You'll be helping your own well-being in ways you wouldn't believe.
Its so true what they say in Buddhism about doing good deeds like planting trees. When we go back and look at our trees and see people eat from them it makes us feel good. We rejoice in the good deeds we have did creating a great feeling inside.
When we do bad deeds like sell someone dodgy perfume or a fake necklace, like I have did many times in the past. When I see the person I sold the stuff too it created ill feelings inside of me. I tried to justify many of my dodgy dealings in the past, but who was I fooling?
There's nothing to rejoice about conning people.
My Karma caught up with me though. You can literally feel inside of you when your Karma is out of whack. We dont feel right.
The majority of the time when we analyse our own state of being, no one else is really to blame on how we are feeling. Its more than likely how we are living our lives that have created the ill feelings.
The more good deeds and offerings we put out into the world the better.
You know the Buddhist Eightfold path is a step by step guide to Enlightenment. I dont know of any other faith that is so intricate and detailed about the path to the heavenly realms. Prayers and rituals are not enough as the Buddha says. Its hard work and effort to get to the higher realms. Its not about going looking God, its about living in a way that God finds you.
Living like Jesus lived is a good way too, I mean he was some man also in how he lived. Much of his teachings are very similar to the Buddha. In fact the Sermon on the Mount is not far off the Dhammapada.
We reap what we sow. That's JC talking about Karma.
Go plant a tree today guys. Do your soul good.
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter
