Making my way round Scotland
Some pics from yesterday's travels. I'm now up in Findhorn Beach.
Amazing drive from Glasgow up past Loch Lomand and onto visit the Fortingall yew.
Stopped off at some amazing waterfalls on the way and then went for a walk at wild cat way.
Didn't bring my phone with me to take pics of wild cat way but it's an area in Newtonmore where they have fenced off lots of the valleys and mountains to keep all grazing animals out and its grown into a natural forest like what you have seen thousands of years ago before all the sheep and cattle started running over the land eating every bit of tree life that pokes its head above the ground.
I'm thinking this is why you call it wild cat way as if there was still wild cats on the landscape the land would be much more forested, keeping grazing animals moving and not hanging around the one area munching everything in site.
We dont realise how good wolves and wildcats help forests.
Deer is a massive problem here in Scotland also, with no wolves around they are wrecking havoc on the land.
I've been to wild cat way before and the feel of it is amazing. There are not many natural forests in the UK and Ireland anymore and this place is pretty special.
I've never seen so many mature Aspen trees anywhere on these islands like wild cat way.
When we look around the mountains all over the UK and Ireland and they put a sign up saying area of outstanding natural beauty, it couldn't be any further from the truth.
Our mountain ranges are not natural. If they are not over run with sheep, they covered in farmed trees for profit. Them pine trees you see are not what grows on our mountains naturally. They are farmed trees for making toilet rolls.
We all need food and we all need toilet roll but its way too out of balance. They have these pockets of natural habitat thats almost like a nature museum. Its sad.
Anyhow thats what I'm all about is promoting human connection back to nature.
I challenge you to phantom plant a tree. Plug back into the source guys.
When we give back to nature with the right intentions you'll be filled with insights like you wouldn't believe. We are from nature, made up of all the elements. Connecting and respecting it has to be the most important things we can do while this body is on loan from mother nature.
Going to hang about the north coast for a couple of days. Some of the best beaches around and apparently the Findhorn area is its on little micro climate.
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter
