Robin Hood oak tree!

This is an oak tree grown from an acorn that I collected from The Major Oak aka Robin Hood oak in Sherwood forest.

The famous oak of Sherwood forest said to be one of the oldest oaks in the UK is now nearly dead.

I did a post a few days ago that I have lots of oaks grown from acorns of this famous tree and the amount of messages I got from people wanting to buy some has been unreal.

I was so lucky to get these acorns a few years ago, never again will this tree produce acorns. I have 25 of these baby oak trees like in the pic growing around our new Lisnabreeny Community Orchard. I also have some more in pots that I'm keeping for a few special places.

In the years ahead when these oaks grow up and produce acorns themselves, they will contain ancient genetics linked back to Robin Hood.

We all need to get out and collect seeds from our ancient trees and grow them up for phantom planting.

Become a phantom planter today and do your bit for nature, I challenge you!

Peace and love
