So much in 1 year!
It was this day last year that we got the land donated for use to plant up our new Lisnabreeny Community Orchard.
When I look back at what has been created here in the past year its pretty amazing.
We have around 300 Irish variety apple trees here with many of them memorial trees. So many families have came to plant trees in memory of their lost loved one with many of them having their loved ones ashes in with the trees too.
Cant thank the couple thats given us this land enough, some nice people in the world.
Also this would not have happened without Tony Mallon, who for many years has always had his ear to the ground for me. He put all this together, connecting myself with the couple that owns the land. Appreciate it big man, cant thank you enough.
Then I will never forget the first day of planting, I had said to a big secret druid guy who I always see in the forest with his staff to come along for the planting. I never expected him to call and there he appeared that day. Since then this orchard would not have survived without him. He has been practically working at the orchard full time. Once he finishes cutting, weeding and watering the trees, by the time he gets around the 300 of them, it's time for him to start again.
The guy quite amazingly also has singlehandedly been removing all the docking leaves around the orchard. You see we dont cut the grass in the field. We are creating a natural wild flower and grass field over the years. Even in this first year the amount of butterflies we have seen has been unreal, just by letting it go wild.
The way things have all worked out here has been pretty magical. I would say the Fairies may have something to do with this also. Across the field is a well know Fairy ringfort and Lisnabreeny translates into "Fort of the Fairy Dwelling" in Irish.
"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it".....
Here are some pics guys from the past year. Everyone is welcome in the years ahead to help themselves to some free apples.
Its strange the way life can take a turn. All my life was about making money, wheeling and dealing all sorts of the earths resources so I can save up paper and digits. There is a certain level of insanity to play a game where the numbers never end.
Theres a reason why governments dont plant massive forests to tackle climate change, its just not profitable. Saving the world has to be profitable!
Now all I want to do these days is give back to nature and the community. I took greed and self gratification to the extremes in the past. Time to level up, one day we will exit this body and world. Keeping my karma right is paramount on this journey.
I challenge you all to phantom plant a tree
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter
