The Bowthorpe Oak
This is a sapling I collected personally a few years ago from the people who own the land where the Bowthorpe Oak stands.
I'm thinking this should maybe be the first oak tree to plant in my spiral oak grove as its the first and largest oak I have from I got the idea to create this.
Although the first acorns I collected for this idea was from the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest.
Once I got this idea into my head for creating the oak grove, the Major Oak aka Robin Hood oak was the first tree I wanted acorns from and the first tree I wanted to visit.
So glad I did go that year as I'm hearing mixed reports that the Major oak is really sick, some say its dying or dead.
After grabbing loads of acorns from the Major Oak, the next tree on my list to visit was the Bowthorpe just down the road. The Bowthorpe wasn't producing acorns that year but the guy that owned the land had a small sapling to give me which he grew from an acorn of the Bowthorpe oak.
So between the Robin Hood oak and the Bowthorpe Oak, I'm not so sure which one should go first.
Its amazing to think that all these acorns from all the most famous and iconic oak trees from all over the UK and Ireland will be planted together in the spiral oak grove.
I have nearly all the acorns I want thanks to you Paramili-Tree SAS guys. ( Special Acorn Service).
All I need now is for them to germinate and next year get them planted in the spiritual spiral.
All of the oaks on the 50 Great British trees list I have acorns from.
I challenge you all to collect acorns, grow them up and phantom plant.
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter
