The spiral walk from strava.
I got the Strava app yesterday and walked around the spiral we cut out in the field to see what would happen. Wasn't really too sure how it would have worked out or how accurate it would be, but heres how it looks, Pretty cool eh.
I do think our spiral is a bit more evenly spaced as to what the app has made. Still going to get a drone up there and check it out from above. The first cut of the spiral was an awkward one with such long thick grass, but before we plant all the oak trees we will have it as perfect as possible.
The field right next to this is where we have our heritage Irish orchard with around 300 apple trees in there already and about another 200 to be planted this winter.
Whats pretty magical about this is my plan is to have 37 different oak trees in this spiral. We were planning on planting the oaks 12 metres apart around the spiral. Strava says the spiral is 430m long and 430 divided by 37 is 11.6m!!!
Its unreal its worked out like this. I had in my head that I would have had much more space along the spiral to plant 37 trees with some left over, and if it was too small I was going to plant the rest around the edges of the field to make up the 37 different types of ancient iconic oaks.
The genetics and linage of ancient oak trees that will be going into this field will be something special.
I dont think there'll be a place quite like it when its all done.
This really is Tutankhamun type of stuff in the making from the Belfast Buddhahood, the portal to the Tuatha De Danann.

I challenge you to phantom plant a tree
Peace and love
