81 apple trees completed

Added bamboo canes and trees guards yesterday to all the 81 apple trees we phantom planted in the estate over the past few days. Luckily when I got down yesterday no more trees had been broken. Only 2 so far had been snapped with possible dogs running over the trees as they are so small.

They were hard to see to be honest without the tree guards on them. Hope now the dogs will see them better and also they will be able to take a bit of a hit now with the canes and guards acting as an extra strengthener for them.

This is going to be an amazing little wild orchard when this all gets established. Such a mix of heritage Irish trees phantom planted here. Cant wait to watch this all grow over the coming years.

The community really loves the idea of fruit trees being planted around the place. Everyone stops to say how much they love it. So many dont know also how many different types of native apple trees we have. It's my life ambition to fill our local estate and beyond with all these heritage apple trees.

I did a mattress delivery yesterday at around 8.30am, I was very early for the delivery, got to the door and the lady was just up. I said I'm planting apple trees in peoples gardens for free with every mattress order. I've a Cavan Sugercane and James Grieves variety here for you if you want me to stick them in your garden now. As she wiped the sleep out of her eyes she was like, I have no idea what your talking about. I could see she was baffled, apple tree and mattresses!! The two dont mix!!

When she finally woke up she was more than pleased and I stuck 2 in her garden for her. She asked if I was selling them and I said no, its just a passion of mine putting our heritage apple trees back on the landscape.

162 apple trees I've planted so far this season in the past month. I've around 212 more to go! Back at it today again planting in the Lisnabreeny community orchard. This place will be the mother orchard in years to come and with the ancient oak spiral right next to it, its going to be a pretty magical place.

I've so much work to be getting on with, thank you all for your donations yesterday. Honestly it gives me some breathing space. Coming up to Christmas is not a good time for selling mattresses, my funds have been slightly low this month.

Like everyone else I'm caught in this monopoly board myself and my mission costs a lot of money and time. Please do support what we do below.

Would really appreciate it. And if you cant I hope you plant a tree.

Peace and love
