Acorns getting planted up today!

Today I'm going to sow all the iconic acorns I have directly into the ground at our spiral. All these acorns were collected by the Paramili-Tree SAS-(Special Acorn Service) members from all over the UK and Ireland and posted to me last autumn.

All the acorns I got I put them into these pots in the pic. I buried them all nice an deep so no wildlife digs them up for a treat over winter. It will be exciting to empty these out today to see which ones have germinated. For me this is the simplest way to germinate acorns. Just collect straight from the tree and bury a handful nice and deep with soil. Come this time of year empty the pot out and plant or repot the ones that have germinated.

Some big named oak trees in these pots, after today we're hopeful we'll have around 30 different famous oak trees planted up at our spiral.

For anyone thats new to this page you'll see in the pic the spiral we cut out in the field. I'm planting this spiral up with acorns collected from all the oldest and most famous oak trees on these islands. We have space for 37 different famous oaks.

We already have 14 famous oaks planted at the spiral and the other day I gave my first tour. The guy was well impressed with it. Some of the stories attached to these trees are unreal. I'm going to get a QR code at each tree that will take you to a voice note from me telling the stories of the parent trees.

This spiral will also be a type of museum preserving the linage and genetics of all our oldest and most iconic oak trees.

I've got something really special up my sleeve for the centre which will take me years to complete and I'm not going to talk about it until its finished as it may get me into a bit of bother. But lets just say this is Tutankhamun kind of stuff coming out of Belfast!

Have a good day guys.

I challenge you to phantom plant a tree

Peace and love
