Not a good day!
Was so annoyed yesterday at finding 4 of my apple trees hit by council mowers. One has been completely ringbarked meaning it will be slowly be dying over the next few weeks. Some people say bark graft it or wrap bandages and other methods. Over the years I've tried so many things to save ringbarked trees and I haven't managed to save one. The tree however might grow back from the stump as they always normally do.
So disheartening though when this happens. Normally I never get that annoyed as I expect to take losses and can always replant the tree, but when you have 6 amazing fruit trees growing away and enjoyed by the community for years and 4 out of the 6 gets hit it really made me angry.
So I went and got some sewer pipe and cut it to put around the tree, I added a load of mulch also. Hopefully this will protect the tree better from careless mowers.
You would wonder though how many other trees are killed this way by careless mowers. Under Brehon Law, the true law of the Emerald Isle, damaging trees like this carries serious consequences.
Anyhow, me and wee Betty was flat out yesterday mulching and tidying up loads of other phantom planted fruit trees around the city. I had 10 heritage apple trees wild phantom planted in very long grass as you can see in one of the pics. So glad I went to check on these as I near forget about these ones. Its amazing how much everything grows up. Back when I planted these in winter it was just one flat field. Now its like a jungle. Was great exercise carrying the bags of mulch up a very steep hill also. We pulled all the grass and weeds back and give them all good mulch.
They are all looking good in the Buddhahood now!
Off out today to check and tidy loads more trees around the estate. Council mowers were out yesterday. So hope all is ok.
Loads of people sending me messages, many spam me a bit with ??? if they dont get an answer.
Look guys its only me on here. I have thousands of trees to look after and try my best to share what I do on here at the same time.
What I share on here is only a fraction of what I'm out doing for the trees everyday.
I'm sorry guys but I really dont have the time to reply.
Please do support my work.

Most of what I do is funded with my own time and money. I'm not some retired philanthropist. I gotta live too guys. A lifetimes entrepreneurial experience has been the backbone of what I do today. Years ago I wanted millions for pure self gratification. Today if I got millions again I would just keep buying land and planting up fruit forests for nature and community to enjoy.
I challenge you all to phantom plant a tree
Peace and love
The Phantom Planter and Wee Betty
