Out of a muddy pond blooms a lotus flower

 Good morning guys,

Just want to thank everyone for the messages of support and for all the donations. Also loving all the pics of people who have went out and planted some trees in memory of the massacre of our community orchard. Also the amount of messages and pics from people saying I've inspired them to become phantom planters over the years is epic. I get a bit emotional reading them sometimes the impact I've had on people.

I would say this movement has inspired at least a million trees to be planted all over the world from I started this Phantom Planter page nearly 7 years ago now.

I have said that this massacre of our second largest community orchard will be the catalyst for something new. It really has got me thinking about a few things and how I'm going to go forward.

The money I have gotten in donations will be going towards setting up The Phantom Planters Trust.

This is something I've been wanting to do for sometime now but just never had the funds to do so.

Many people over the years have offered me land for planting community orchards on and I've always wanted a Trust setup so any land given can be put into the Trust keeping it safe in the future for community and nature.

And just because I'm setting up a Trust doesn't mean I will be stopping phantom planting trees without permission. Around my local hood in South Belfast I have proved that there is a great need for fruit trees all around our streets and estates. Over the past many years every fruit tree has been stripped of its fruit. Like a few days ago one of our plum trees was full, next day it was bare. Yesterday a lady was picking apples to make pies. So many come up with their tubs to pick the Buddhist blessed raspberries. I watch people just walking through the estate eating apples. Old ladies with bags going around checking the trees to see which ones are ripe. The more I watch all this happen in my local estate the more I am driven to keep on doing what I do.

I also love to watch the birds and the bees eat the fruit too. The slugs and other insects also, they are all part of the  interconnectedness of our existence.

Our bodies came out of nature, made up of all her elements. One day we will go back to the earth. What you do in-between is your call guys. Buddhism has made me realise I need to be very careful how I interact with the natural world. I believe there will be massive negative karmic repercussions on how we as individuals treat the natural world.

We've all bitten off more than we can chew and its time for us all to level up on a personal basis.

Most of the mental suffering today in the world is of our own doing because we are so ignorant.

I always say if the Buddha was alive today he would be a Phantom Planter. He would be telling us all to plant trees. The Buddha was a forest monk, he taught out of the forest. Shaolin means "little forest".

The Buddha was born under a tree, attained enlightenment under a tree and died under a tree.

Lets all get planting trees. I challenge you all.

Peace and love

Pic is a phantom planted plum tree around 9 years old. Just growing by the side of the road. Sitting in the shade of a tree I phantom planted.
