Good deeds and generosity
Something I've been observing on here for many years now is people who get involved in divisiveness, exposing, fault finding, creating divide and mayhem. You know the type I'm on about. Their pages are just filled with anxiety inducing doom and gloom.
I've noticed though that so many of these types of people I have seen bring turmoil into their own personal lives.
The Buddha says all this in the Dhammapada about how what we think is creating our world around us.
This is just an observation, who knows I could be wrong. But I do know one thing, when I get involved in all that doom and gloom stuff that I said above you get locked into the ego mindset and it doesn't make you feel too good.
Nearly all content on here is about our egoes. Its all just our egoes fighting, arguing and showing off to other egoes.
Buddhism has made me look deep within and analyse my own being. What makes me feel good, what makes me feel happy. And a big part of that is contributing to other peoples happiness. You dont have to be spiritual or religious. You just have to live in goods deeds and generosity is what the Buddhas tell us to have a better existence.
The more I walk this Buddha path the more AHA moments you get. Like it all couldn't have all been that simple all along.
The majority of our own suffering is of our own doing.
The Buddhas will go so far to say that all suffering that befalls on an individual is a result of his or her past life Karma. Hard one to swallow at times. But maybe they're right. All I know is its best to start with the good deeds now.
Its not worth the gamble if you ask me to try and live any other way apart from the right way.
When a man's good deeds overcome the bad joy will follow them like a shadow that never leaves.
Planting fruit trees for your community is a pretty good start.
