Jonny Rotten phantom plants a plum tree!

 This time last year we were on the front page of the Daily Mirror newspaper as trunk rocker Jonny Rotten phantom plants a plum tree with us in Belfast and gets signed up as a paramili-tree!


What a good bit of publicity for phantom planting!


Many of you probably dont know this but the phantom planter only exists because of a 9 year old girl, she was my best buddy at the time and she gave me the confidence to do all what I'm doing now!


I never wrote anything in the past apart from price lists, bookie dockets and tick lists!


We started of being drawing buddies for a awhile then I wrote stuff next to my drawings (silly poems and slogans) and she was always telling me how good I was.

I really valued her opinion and I began to write more and more, then both of us came up with the phantom planter together, we talked about how we were going to be superhero tree planters who came out in the middle of the night and planted fruit trees all over streets and estates, we looked into different masks together and she really didnt like the one I choose but I knew it was one that everyone could get easily and I went ahead with it anyway even though she run away scared every time I put it on..


I wanted there to be thousands of phantom planters, so many that no one knew who the real one was all out randomly planting trees!


Back then before we started just over 3 years ago I was always saying to her that we will be having all sorts of Hollywood superstars over to phantom plant trees with us and that we will be on the Oprah Winfrey show one day, (she had never heard of Oprah), we are going worldwide I told her!

Not sure she knew what to think at the time but I never see her anymore and she must be looking me up now and again thinking wow!!! that crazy man wasnt all that crazy!!!


Who knows though, we might have Oprah over yet!

  A bit about me and how I became the phantom planter. From Spain to Belfast Phantom Planting!

  Phantom planted another apple tree yesterday with my big glaswegian pal who is over visiting! He couldn't believe the size of the orchard now! Last time we planted a tree was years ago in Spain, 2 plum trees we phantom planted out there, sadly they didn't survive but we had great fun doing it in the lashing rain right outside the Buddhist Stupa as you can see in one of the pics, an offering to the Buddha was my intention! I was at the worst of my addictions back then, used to visit this Stupa a lot for spiritual guidance, really found myself out there, spent a lot of time in Spain soul searching, taking advantage of the cheap winter flights and free stay! I had my last ever pint at the airport after praying at this Stupa, the Buddha responded to my offering I believe! Pretty magical really, faith in a higher power guys, that did it for me, there's more to all this life, more to all this all this world! "Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"..
